If 2 NBA teams have the same win-loss record, what decides who is higher in the standings?

first its who won the head to head competition, if thats a tie, then its who won more games in their conference.

a division leader is guaranteed one of the first 4 spots, they can still get 4th if the other 3 teams have a better record.

the letters does, which team's letter comes first. But if it's a playoff situation, I think they will just make them play eachother to see who will make the playoffs.
they go to the tie breaker here's an examplethe Lakers and Mavs have the same record but since the Mavs beat the Lakers they will have a higher standing but if they lose there next game and the Lakers win then the Lakers will be higher
Two things the tie breaker which is exp lakers win 2out of three against the suns in the regular season they get higher or if mavs have the same as suns if the mavs win their division they get a higher seed

I think that it goes to head to head who has won more of there meetings for that year.
It depends on who won the match-up during the season between the two. The team who won the season series will have the higher seed in the standings. If they have tied the season series then they will have an extra game to determine the seed between the two.
